Self-guided walks for the hours before a show

City Tours

Event nights downtown often start with a free afternoon. These self-guided tours are built to fit into that gap: each one starts close to Broadway and Fifth, can be done on foot or with a short ride, and ends near a venue on our board. They mix music history, architecture and riverfront views, and none of them needs a ticket to enjoy from the sidewalk.

Where a stop does need admission, such as a museum or a studio tour, we say so and point you to the organization that runs it. Opening hours and tour schedules change through the year, so check each one on the day. Comfortable shoes and water are the only real requirements; in summer, plan shade breaks and start early.
